Ruthenica, Russian Malacological Journal [ISSN 2307-7336 (Online), ISSN 0136-0027 (Print)] is published since 1991, presently by A.N.Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of RAS and accepts articles dedicated to all aspects of malacology (with preference to taxonomy, phylogeny, morphology and ecology) in English or Russian. Since 2008 it is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. Ruthenica fully complies with the requirements of ICZN to electronic publications. Registered at Zoobank: urn:lsid:zoobank.org:pub:E6F15B26-B1E2-40D1-A4C4-0CF5BB86ABDD. Paper copies are printed once a year. Ruthenica is indexed in Zoological Record, Scopus, Russian Index of Scientific citation and other databases.
Duties for Chief Editors
- Based on the review report, Chief Editor has the right to accept or reject the manuscript, or can send the same for the modification.
- Chief Editor must ensure that each manuscript is initially evaluated for the manuscript’s originality. After passing this test, manuscript is then forwarded to two reviewers for blind peer-review. Each of them will make a recommendation to accept/reject or modify the reviewed manuscript.
- Chief Editor must ensure that each manuscript is reviewed for its intellectual content.
- Chief Editor must ensure that information regarding the manuscript is kept confidential.
Editorial Board Responsibilities
- The Editorial Board must keep information pertaining to submitted manuscripts confidential.
- The Editorial Board must disclose any conflicts of interest.
- The Editorial Board must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content.
- The Editorial Board is responsible for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts.
Duties for Authors
- Authors must guarantee that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
- Authors must guarantee that the manuscript is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
- Authors must guarantee that the manuscript has been submitted with the full knowledge and approval of Institution given as the affiliation of the authors.
- Authors must guarantee that they have written entirely original work.
- Authors should also provide all data related with their manuscript.
Duties for Reviewers
- Reviewers must notify the Chief Editor of any conflicts of interest.
- Reviewer should be kept confidential all information regarding to reviewed manuscript.
- Reviewer must ensure that authors have acknowledged all sources of data used in the research. Any kind of similarity between the manuscript and other published papers, must be immediately brought in to notice to the Chief Editor.
- Reviewer should express their views clearly with the supporting arguments.
- In case, the reviewer feels that it is not possible to complete the review process, must inform the Chief Editor immediately, so the manuscript could be send to any other reviewer.
Editorial Board Responsibilities
